Gifted and Talented Program

The Gifted and Talented Program intends to support students to develop their gifts and talents through a range of co-curricular programs and adjustments designed to challenge the students to extend their learning. Students are able to accelerate in their learning to complete Units 1 and 2 VCE subjects in Year 10, Unit 3 & 4 subjects in Year 11 and VCAL program in Year 10 upon meeting application criteria. 

To complement the adjustments designed to challenge and extend students within the classroom, various competitions and extracurricular and co-curricular programs, activities and events are offered to students.

Personalising the learning to include strategies/adjustments to extend students intellectually, creatively, socioeffectively and in sensorimotor areas through:

  • provision of above-level questions in exams, assessments
  • thought-provoking questioning to enhance thinking
  • encouragement of risk-taking in learning
  • extension of vocabulary
  • the posing of problems to solve and encourage collaborative problem-solving, building hypotheses and adjusting plans as the problem is being solved
  • completion of activities in greater depth.

In addition, there are many activities for students to excel in the Arts, Music, Sport, Languages.
