Explicit teaching

Students are taught explicitly how to use their iPad.  All students participate in two induction sessions on the use of the iPad.  Aspects of iPad use covered in these sessions include:

  • iPad set up
  • iPad navigation
  • Web browsing
  • Email
  • Calendar
  • Synching
  • Downloading of Apps
  • Use of Good Reader and WebDAV to download course resources and to upload assessment tasks

Homeroom Teachers use a specifically prepared video to show their class how to use the Calendar app to input the student’s timetable, record homework and add reminders for due dates.
