Student Leadership

The Student Leadership Council is a group of students at Our Lady of Sion College dedicated to work for and with the college to encourage active participation in all school activities by students.

The vision is to unite all individuals within the Sion community and instil a feeling of loyalty, pride, spirit and enthusiasm throughout the college.

student wellbeing - student leadership

Whole School Student Leaders are elected at the end of third term Year 11 for a term of office that runs from October to September. In addition, class leaders and an SRC are elected at the beginning of the school year. Class leaders serve for a semester, and SRC for two semesters. In this way, students are provided with opportunities to assume formal leadership positions. There are many opportunites for leadership beyond these. At Our Lady of Sion the student voice is strong and articulate.

House Organisation

For the purpose of cross-age activities such as sporting, musical and some other events, there exists a house structure. There are four Houses, each named after a place where Our Lady is reported to have appeared. Each is assigned a colour. The system builds on many other family structures which operate within the College.
