Student Leadership

The Student Representative Council (SRC) is a student-led body at Our Lady of Sion College dedicated to work for and with staff to encourage active student participation in all school activities.

Our vision is to unite all individuals within the Sion community and instil a feeling of loyalty, pride, spirit and enthusiasm. Year 12 leaders are appointed for a term of office that runs from October of Year 11 to September the following year. In addition, class leaders and SRC representatives are elected at the beginning of the school year. Class leaders serve for one semester, and the SRC for two semesters.

At Our Lady of Sion, the student voice is strong and articulate. There are many opportunities for leadership, including portfolio leadership positions in the areas of:

  • College Captains (2 positions)
  • Debating
  • Drama
  • Environment
  • FIRE Carrier
  • House
  • Liturgy
  • Music
  • Social Justice
  • Sport
  • Visual Arts

The College has an explicit focus on the strengthening of student voice to ensure that students have avenues to give advice and feedback and to ultimately collaborate on the development and delivery of Faith and Mission, Learning and Teaching, and Wellbeing programs in the College.
