Celebrations

Throughout the year, the College recognises and celebrates its Catholic tradition. These are valuable opportunities for us to build community and connection to the College.

Feast Days and other celebrations

A number of feast days and celebrations occur throughout the College calendar year, including Sion Day, feast days for each of the four Houses, and Significant Women’s/Men’s breakfasts. There are also celebrations and commemorations for RU OK? Day, Anzac Day, International Women’s Day, Year 12 Graduation and a host of other events. These opportunities are, above all, a chance to gather as a community, a pillar of strength and support for one another.

90th anniversary

In 2018, the College celebrated 90 years of providing excellent education to the young women of Box Hill and surrounding areas. There were a number of initiatives throughout the year including a whole-school Mass at the Cathedral of St Patrick, a Welcome Back to Sion 90th anniversary reunion for all past staff and students, a social justice project called ’90 deeds for 90 years’ encompassing actions by the whole school towards a total of 90 good deeds, an anniversary concert at Robert Blackwood Hall and a celebratory dinner for staff.
