VCE Results 2018

December 17, 2018

Learning growth and achievement may be witnessed in numerous ways, and while some may think that in the final year of a student’s secondary education, the opportunity to excel is pitted against limited time and a daunting workload, it can happen. Throughout this year, not only has the Class of 2018 committed themselves to their studies, they have also contributed in so many ways to the life of the College and the broader community.

I would like to sincerely congratulate our Class of 2018, whose dedication and commitment to achieving excellence are to be applauded. Our VCAL students have worked extraordinarily well as individuals and as a team to develop their skills and further their career aspirations. I know they will continue to excel in their future endeavours and I congratulate them and wish them every success as they pursue their personal goals.

I would also like to congratulate and affirm our VCE students for their dedication, especially in the lead-up to their final examinations. Their tenacity and perseverance were admirable. It is with great pride that I announce the following achievements:

  • 9.5% achieved an ATAR above 95, which places them in the top 5% of the state
  • 20.6% of our students achieved an ATAR above 90
  • 48.5% of our students achieved an ATAR above 80
  • 70% of our students achieved an ATAR above 70
  • Our Median study score was 33
  • Our Median ATAR was 79.725
  • 12.7% of study scores were above 40.

Congratulations to Sophie Harrison who received perfect scores of 50 in English and in Health and Human Development, and to Lydia Ting for achieving a perfect score of 50 in English.

Congratulations to our 2018 Dux, Sophie Harrison, who achieved an ATAR of 99.40.

We thank our teachers and parents and guardians who have supported the Class of 2018 throughout their years at Our Lady of Sion College. The success of all our Year 12 students is a collaborative endeavour over the last six years and I thank you for working in partnership with us during this time.
